The Episode EE-IR-RCVR-SM is a compact surface-mount IR receiver (sensor) for IR repeater systems. It picks up commands from your remote controls and passes them to an IR repeater, so you can control equipment that is hidden away in a cabinet or rack.

The receiver is designed to resist interference from plasma and LCD displays, a common cause of erratic IR control. It supports broadband IR and compressed codes, and works with hard-to-control devices such as AT&T U-verse boxes as well as most AV components and remotes. A talkback LED gives visual confirmation when commands are received, and reception reaches up to 40 feet.
